The Three Pillars (ABC's) of Technical Training

A - Application: How do I use the tool?

This is the one pillar traditional training has been best at addressing. By leveraging all available modalities to their maximum potential, in the right combination, at the right time, and to the right audience we can deliver the technical knowledge necessary to ignite a successful learning journey.

Modalities include:

  • Live, instructor-led classroom training with hands-on labs, directed learning activities, group exercises, vibrant discussion, and tests for knowledge
  • Curated resources to resolve complex or unique challenges not covered in the scripted training

B – Business context: How will I use this tool on the job?

Typical classroom training can never fully prepare your team, regardless of its quality, duration, or design.  Expecting individuals to independently bridge the technical training of Pillar One with the real-world complexities of actual business requirements is not based in reality.  It is our responsibility to connect the technical knowledge with the real-world application. This is the key to our philosophy of teaching not only the HOW, but more importantly, the WHY.

Modalities include:

  • Fully-customized live, instructor-led classroom training addressing mutually-defined learning objectives based in one or more live client applications
  • Curated resources to resolve complex or unique challenges not covered in the scripted training
  • Durable e-learning (Self-paced) long-form as well as micro-learning resources made available 24/7 via LMS
  • Enhanced self-paced learning utilities delivered via LMS such as badging, certification, and gamification

C – Continuous learning: Additional resources which support the learning journey

In-person learning engagements are short, by design. Delivering long-term value can only be achieved by leaving behind a culture of continuous learning and the appropriate resources to support it.

Modalities include:

  • Durable e-learning (Self-paced) long-form as well as micro-learning resources made available 24/7 via LMS
  • Curated multi-media resources (beyond e-learning)
  • Community-based support via formation of and commitment to: user groups, centers of excellence, competency centers
  • Access to learning delivery experts on an as-needed (retainer) basis for micro-learning engagements to address and solve specific problems
  • Development of more advanced materials to challenge learning and continuously expand the breadth and depth of knowledge
  • Recognition of achievements
